Usher President — Duties & Responsibilities

The Usher President provides leadership and direction to the Usher Ministry and works diligently with the ushers as they welcome and assist the congregation entering the sanctuary. The Usher President helps maintain order, proper decorum, and a welcoming Christian atmosphere throughout the church building and church property.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversees and provides leadership to the Usher Ministry.

  • Coordinates usher schedules and assignments for worship services and special programs.

  • Ensures ushers are prepared and in their assigned positions before services begin.

  • Welcomes members, visitors, and guests with kindness, respect, and Christian hospitality.

  • Assists with seating and provides direction to members and guests as needed.

  • Helps maintain order and proper decorum in the sanctuary and throughout the church property.

  • Works with the Pastor, Elders, Deacons, Worship Chair, and other church leadership to support an orderly worship experience.

  • Assists with the orderly movement of the congregation during offering, Communion, invitations, and other portions of worship.

  • Provides additional usher support for funerals, weddings, anniversaries, special services, and church programs.

  • Trains and encourages ushers to serve with professionalism, attentiveness, compassion, and respect.

  • Helps address safety concerns or situations requiring assistance during worship services and church events.

  • Ensures the Usher Ministry represents Cedar Grove Christian Church with hospitality, unity, and a spirit of service.

Purpose:
The Usher President leads the Usher Ministry in creating a welcoming, orderly, safe, and respectful worship environment so that everyone entering Cedar Grove Christian Church feels received and able to worship comfortably.
