President of the Disciples Men Ministry & Deacon

Duties & Responsibilities

As President of the Disciples Men Ministry, he provides leadership, guidance, and encouragement to the men of Cedar Grove Christian Church. He promotes spiritual growth, Christian fellowship, brotherhood, leadership development, and active participation in the life and mission of the church.

He works closely with the Senior Pastor, Elders, Deacons, church officers, and ministry leaders to organize activities, strengthen relationships among the men, and encourage men of all generations to serve as examples of faith, integrity, responsibility, and Christian service.

President of the Disciples Men Ministry — Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and direction for the Disciples Men Ministry.

  • Work with ministry officers and members to establish goals and plan activities for the year.

  • Preside over Disciples Men meetings and help ensure ministry business is conducted in an organized and respectful manner.

  • Encourage the spiritual growth of men through prayer, Bible study, worship, fellowship, and Christian service.

  • Encourage men to become actively involved in the worship, ministries, programs, and leadership of the church.

  • Plan and coordinate Men’s Day programs, fellowship activities, service projects, outreach initiatives, and other ministry events.

  • Promote Christian brotherhood and build stronger relationships among the men of the congregation.

  • Encourage participation from men of different ages and generations.

  • Support and mentor younger men and encourage their development as Christian leaders.

  • Encourage men to serve as positive examples within their families, church, workplaces, and communities.

  • Identify opportunities for the men to assist members of the church and individuals within the surrounding community.

  • Encourage visitation and support for members who are sick, shut-in, grieving, or experiencing hardship.

  • Work cooperatively with the Senior Pastor and other church ministries on church-wide programs and initiatives.

  • Communicate ministry activities, needs, and important information to members of the Disciples Men Ministry.

  • Encourage accountability, dependability, unity, and participation among ministry members.

  • Represent the Disciples Men Ministry in church leadership meetings when appropriate.

  • Help identify and develop future leaders within the ministry.

  • Perform other responsibilities necessary to support the mission and purpose of the Disciples Men Ministry.

Deacon — Duties & Responsibilities

As a Deacon, he cooperates with the Elders, Pastor, and church leadership in promoting the spiritual growth, ministry, and welfare of Cedar Grove Christian Church.

His responsibilities include:

  • Greet and welcome members, visitors, and worshippers.

  • Assist in maintaining an orderly and welcoming worship environment.

  • Prepare and distribute the Lord’s Supper (Communion).

  • Assist with the blessing, collection, and presentation of offerings as assigned.

  • Support stewardship efforts and financial canvasses when requested.

  • Assist candidates in preparing for baptism.

  • Minister to individuals and families during sickness, hospitalization, bereavement, hardship, and other times of need.

  • Participate in visitation and congregational care when appropriate.

  • Assist with baptisms, funerals, special services, and other church programs.

  • Support the Pastor, Elders, and church leadership in carrying out the ministry and mission of the church.

  • Work cooperatively with fellow Deacons and other ministries.

  • Demonstrate Christian character, compassion, confidentiality, dependability, and servant leadership.

  • Perform other duties assigned in accordance with the established practices of Cedar Grove Christian Church.

Purpose

Through his service as President of the Disciples Men Ministry and Deacon, he helps strengthen both the men’s ministry and the broader congregation.

His leadership encourages men to grow spiritually, build stronger relationships, serve their families and community, become active in the church, and develop the next generation of Christian leaders.

Through faithful service as a Deacon, he also helps meet the spiritual and practical needs of the congregation while supporting the continued growth and mission of Cedar Grove Christian Church.
